At the IAA trade show in 2013 visitors of the BMW booth were able to experience the high torque of electric motors in this driving simulator. When accelerating the visitors would get rotated on their backs to create the feeling of getting pushed back in a car's seat.

A heavy friction wheel in the back of the simulator was doing the heavy lifting. To compensate for some slippage of the wheel three sensors needed to continously take absolute measures of the simulator's position to avoid crashing.
